The type of use also plays a role: is hands-free recording desired, such as with lavaliers or headsets, or a fixed setup in the studio with a gooseneck or broadcast microphone? For live or fieldwork, dynamic microphones are often the best choice due to their robustness. For studio recordings and vocals, high-sensitivity condenser microphones are most suitable.
