This proprietary, real-time upmix method preserves the original production integrity of stereo sources and creates discrete surround sound that can be decoded by a wide variety of streaming players that support the MPEG-Surround format. This process uses only slightly more data than standard mono or stereo streams and is fully backward compatible with stereo playback systems.
